Art Group 
Your recovery will be divided into three phases 

Phase 1: Assessment and Primary Care
Time: 6 weeks

Goals:
  1. to completely withdraw from drugs and alcohol and address any physical health problems
  2. to settle into the household routine within the community
  3. to cope with each day’s demands without the use of drugs or alcohol, self harm or compulsive behaviour
  4. to do whatever work is given to you—such as house-cleaning, meal preparation and written work
  5. to begin to deal with any family, financial or legal problems with our help
  6. to begin to handle any confrontation that may occur and to be more open and honest
  7. to work through steps 1 & 2 of the Twelve Steps

Restrictions:
  1. send and receive no letters for the first 2 weeks - we will ask you to open any post in front of us that you receive at any time during your time of residence
  2. make and receive no personal phone calls for the first 4 weeks (other than to your Solicitor, Probation Officer, Doctor or Social Worker, etc. and children according to the agreed schedule). After 4 weeks you may use the residents pay phone during the evenings and at weekends.
  3. receive no visitors (except agreed child contact visits and professionals)
  4. when you go outside the house, one of us will go with you
Assessment:
At the end of this phase you can fill out an assessment form and meet with us to see if you have reached the goals set out in Phase 1 and are ready to move into Phase 2. With guidance from the staff you will also identify your objectives for the next stage.
Phase 2: Settled
Time: 6 weeks

Goals:
  1. to demonstrate a real commitment to your own recovery programme and to other people in the community
  2. to set and achieve short-term goals in an honest way
  3. to handle relationships within the household by sorting out problems and conflicts in an acceptable way
  4. to take on more responsibility in the house—other than daily household chores—according to your preference
  5. to begin to relate to people outside the house
  6. to begin investigating various options for part-time voluntary work or part-time study within the Norwich area.
  7. to attend a local church fellowship if desired
  8. to work steps 3 & 4 of the Twelve Steps

Restrictions:
You will already be able to send and receive post and make personal phone calls. You may now invite family visitors by arrangement with us. You may leave the house so long as you have permission and agree to keep the policy we work out with you. All purchases must have a receipt. As you get ready for Phase 3 you may negotiate an overnight or weekend visit away.

Assessment:
At the end of this phase you can fill out an assessment form and meet with us to see if you have reached the goals set out in Phase 2 and are ready to move into Phase 3. With guidance from the staff you will also identify your objectives for the next stage.

Phase 3: Responsible
Time: approx 12 weeks

Goals
  1. to increase your ability to function well at:
  • interpersonal relationships
  • coping with stress and handling personal problems
  • demands of specific work situations
  • use of spare time
  • living within a budget
  • self-control and self-discipline
2. to demonstrate continuing and positive recovery from addiction based on personal spiritual experience: that you have a new understanding of yourself and of others and that you are clearer about the meaning, value and direction of your life
3. to help the domestic routine and recovery programme run smoothly
4. to set medium and long-term goals and begin to move towards them
5. to begin part-time voluntary work and/or part-time study
6. to handle authority in a mature way
7. to work through the Twelve Steps

Restrictions: These will be relaxed as you become more involved in outside activities. This means you will have increased freedom to come and go and more control over your personal money.

Assessment:
One or two weeks before your planned departure we ask you to complete as self-assessment form including plans for your future. you will then meet with the staff team to receive feedback on your progress during Phase 3. While you remain resident at Hebron House we ask only that you do not use drugs or alcohol and respect the House Rules. Your participation in the daily routine of the house will vary according to your degree of commitment outside the house. We will expect you to continue to help other residents and to assist with their rehabilitation. The conditions under which any resident continues to reside at Hebron House during Re-entry will vary considerably depending upon individual needs and circumstances.
